1.No cresol insulating paint
The most commonly used solvent for winding wire insulation varnish is cresol. The main component of the mixed solvent is also cresol. Cresol is not only harmful to the environment, but also has a serious corrosive effect on the skin. Current solvent systems that do not contain cresols are usually based on glycol ethers (such as glycol ethers and diethylene glycol ethers) and their derivatives.

2.High solid content insulating paint
At present, the highest solid content of winding wire insulating paint in the world has reached 60-65%. The paint method requires special molds and the high temperature state of the insulating paint (>65¡ãC) must be maintained on the equipment.

3.Extrusion resin
The volatile content of the extruded resin has become zero. In addition to special manufacturing technology, an extruder with extremely high precision is also required.

4.Ultraviolet curing polymer
Ultraviolet (UV) curing resins do not contain volatile solvents. Currently, acrylic and methacrylic liquid resins have been developed, which can be converted into solids under the action of ultraviolet rays. Compared with the traditional solvent paint, its reaction time is fast, and it can form a pinhole-free paint film, which overcomes the defects that may be caused by solvent evaporation. The disadvantage is that the resin is toxic, high in cost, and poor in thermal performance.

5.Water-based paint
It is very ideal to use water as a solvent or medium to make insulating varnishes, because water is a pure natural substance, non-toxic and tasteless. Water-based paint includes water-soluble paint, water emulsion paint and water dispersion paint. The foreign Dr. Beck company pioneered the research, and the domestic Shanghai Cable Research Institute has conducted successful research in the 1970s. In terms of industrial promotion, measures still need to be taken.

6.Powder coating
Powder coatings have been widely used in the coatings industry. Electrostatic powder coating on the winding wire has been successfully developed in the United States ETI (ElectistaticTechuologylnc) in collaboration with Westinghouse and 3M, and has been successfully used in the manufacture of transformer coils.
